11項指標
  1. 3.1.1 Good Health and Well-being: paper views In 2025, China Medical University’s SDG 3-related publications recorded 176,540 paper views, as reported through Elsevier’s Scopus and SciVal platforms. The University advances clinical and biomedical research in cancer, traditional Chinese medicine, precision medicine and public health. Its Office of Research and Development supports publication in leading international journals through open-access subsidies and research incentives, widening access for researchers and healthcare professionals. These policies continued throughout 2025, alongside systematic monitoring of research readership. The institutional repository further enhances access through full-text search, extending the scholarly and societal reach of the University’s research.
  2. 3.1.2 Clinical citations China Medical University’s SDG 3-related research addresses targeted cancer therapy, evidence-based acupuncture, precision medicine and infectious disease prevention. The Office of Research and Development and affiliated hospital teams monitor citations of the University’s research in national and international clinical guidelines. For the 2027 Sustainability Impact Ratings, the relevant bibliometric period is 2021–2025. This monitoring traces the use of the University’s findings in the clinical evidence base across its medical and biomedical faculties, cancer centre, traditional Chinese medicine research teams and affiliated hospitals.
  3. 3.1.3 Good Health and Well-being: publications In 2025, China Medical University published 6,507 SDG 3-related papers, as documented in its SciVal data export. Research priorities include targeted cancer therapies and immunotherapy, evidence-based traditional Chinese medicine, precision medicine, cerebrovascular and cardiovascular diseases, and public health. The Office of Research and Development and affiliated hospital teams use Scopus and SciVal to monitor research output across medical and biomedical faculties, research centres, interdisciplinary teams and affiliated hospitals. Internal research funding and incentives for publication in leading journals support interdisciplinary biomedical research and the dissemination of its findings.
  4. 3.2.1 Proportion of graduates in health professions In 2025, China Medical University recorded 1,249 graduates. All 1,249 graduated from health professions or allied health programmes. The numerator—health-professions graduates—and denominator—all CMU graduates—were therefore identical, yielding a proportion of 100% (1,249 ÷ 1,249). The total comprised 1,064 undergraduate and 185 master’s and doctoral graduates. Disciplines covered medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, public health, traditional Chinese medicine, medical laboratory science, medical imaging, occupational health, sports medicine, physical therapy, acupuncture, long-term care, rehabilitation sciences, biomedical sciences, translational medicine, ageing medicine and cancer biology. Every CMU graduate in 2025 was therefore trained in a health-related field, demonstrating the University’s substantial contribution to health workforce development and the broader objectives of SDG 3.
  5. 3.3.1 Current collaborations with health institutions In 2025, China Medical University conducted 2091 collaborative research projects with government health authorities and institutions. CMU maintained ongoing health partnerships at local, national and global levels. Locally, it worked with the Taichung City Health Bureau and community healthcare providers on dementia care and chronic disease prevention. Nationally, collaborations with the Ministry of Health and Welfare and National Health Research Institutes advanced biomedical innovation and precision oncology. Globally, CMU collaborated with Mayo Clinic and MD Anderson Cancer Center on multinational clinical trials and academic exchange. These partnerships supported public health and healthcare quality.
  6. 3.3.2 Health outreach programmes In 2025, China Medical University delivered community health outreach for older adults, children and disadvantaged groups. Food and medication safety education recorded 1,241 attendances across 18 sessions at 10 sites; oral-health services recorded 466 contacts. Student clubs served 2,000 people across campus, domestic and overseas activities. After 10 weeks of exercise, 80% of older participants had improved or stable fall risk. Home support recorded 150 contacts and 12 high-risk referrals. Online health education generated 148,805 page views. Separately, 16 health-related industry research projects had total contract funding of NT$10,210,939, including multi-year funding. CMU received an SDG 3 Merit Award in the Global Views University Social Responsibility Awards.
  7. 3.3.3 Shared sports facilities In 2025, China Medical University maintained a standing mechanism for external organisations to use sports facilities under two publicly available regulations, while local residents also accessed designated facilities. Organised groups apply at least two weeks in advance, with requests reviewed by the Office of Physical Education and Office of General Affairs. A dedicated public-access policy and fee schedule for individual community users have not yet been established. Facilities across CMU campuses include multipurpose courts, table-tennis rooms, dance studios, fitness rooms and a golf practice area. Standard safety, cleaning and waste-sorting procedures support responsible facility use. CMU will develop an inclusive and transparent access scheme to broaden equitable community participation and encourage local residents to adopt healthy, active lifestyles.
  8. 3.3.4 Sexual and reproductive health care services for students In 2025, CMU Health Center gave students free access to sexual and reproductive health education and anonymous HIV screening through announcements and registration. Six activities recorded 584 attendances across the university community: two HIV-prevention lectures (236), a sexuality education lecture (83), an HPV and reproductive-health lecture (77), and two anonymous screening sessions (188). Screenings were delivered on campus with Taichung City's Beitun District Su-Min Public Health Center, including one during new-student health examinations. Surveys found at least 96.7% content understanding, 99.9% improved awareness and 97.8% satisfaction for the HIV lectures; 94% of sexuality-education participants reported improved knowledge and practical value, while the HPV session recorded 93.3% and 94.9%, respectively. CMU integrated free education, prevention and confidential screening.
  9. 3.3.5 Mental health support for students In 2025, China Medical University provided all students with proactive, continuous and free campus-based mental health support. The University maintained proactive, year-round mental health support, available to all students free of charge. Students could confidentially book individual counselling online and access on-campus psychiatric consultation, including English-language sessions. During the year, 300 students received 2,174 counselling sessions. CMU actively promoted well-being through 62 mental-health activities with 3,884 attendances, 98 mental-health literacy activities reaching 2,847 attendances, and 10 suicide-prevention gatekeeper training sessions for 587 participants. An emotional education course enrolled 137 students. The on-campus psychiatric clinic provided 103 consultations and referred 27 higher-need cases for external medical care. This continuous, accessible pathway integrated prevention, early identification, professional counselling and medical referral.
  10. 3.3.6 Smoke-free policy. In place by 2025 In 2025, China Medical University maintained a campus-wide smoke-free policy under its Tobacco Hazard Prevention Management Guidelines, adopted on 10 August 2023. The policy prohibits smoking at all locations across CMU campuses, including cigarettes, electronic cigarettes and heated tobacco products. It bans cigarette-butt littering, tobacco advertising and sales, and the provision of smoking-related items. No-smoking signs are displayed at campus entrances and prominent locations, while responsible units jointly conduct prevention, education and enforcement. The policy remained in force in 2025 and is publicly accessible in CMU's regulations database. Implementation included a tobacco-prevention programme on 24 September 2025 for students and staff, combining health education with individual consultation. Together, these measures sustain a smoke-free learning and working environment.
  11. 3.3.7 Mental health support for staff In 2025, China Medical University provided free, proactive, continuous and accessible mental-health support to all faculty and staff. Under its Counsellor Employment Regulations, the Health Centre offers confidential counselling for work stress, workplace adjustment, emotional distress, and interpersonal or family concerns, with referral when further care is needed. Four staff members received 13 counselling contacts. CMU also delivered five mental-health promotion activities with 150 attendances and 36 capacity-building sessions for mentors, counsellors, teaching and administrative staff, totalling 107 hours and 285 attendances. Addressing stress management, emotional support, self-care, professional supervision and burnout prevention, these services integrate early intervention, clear access pathways and sustained institutional support to strengthen staff well-being and resilience.
